197mm Wrought/Damascus Santoku

197 x 57mm (7.75 x 2.25") santoku with a black ash handle. 

Wrought iron blade with a twisted damascus edge bar. The damascus is 1095/15N20 carbon steel. 

The ash for the handle came from Camp Small in Baltimore, which is a mill that uses trees from Baltimore City and the surrounding area. 

This knife is an experimentation on the future of my high-end knives. The forging technique for the blade came from a class I took with Nick Anger at the Center for Metal Arts. I am very pleased with how this one came out. It will patina beautifully, with the contrast between the wrought iron and the damascus steel.

Balance point is just slightly forward of the pinch grip.
